It’s a Boy! For Shannon Miller, America’s Most Decorated Gymnast
Olympic Gold Medalist and America's Most Decorated Gymnast, Shannon Miller and her husband John Falconetti, President of The Drummond Press, welcomed their first child, John Rocco Falconetti, on October 28, 2009. The baby boy was born at 6:46pm, weighing 7lbs, 11oz.
"There is nothing that compares to seeing your child for the first time. Hearing him cry and holding him in our arms. We feel so blessed and are excited to begin this new adventure!"
In addition to sports broadcasting and hosting her own television show, Shannon continues to be a strong advocate for health and wellness for women, recently taping a prenatal fitness video and writing a series of fitness books to be out in 2010. (read more)

Shawn Johnson, 2008 Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist is the McDonald's U.S. Champion Kids Ambassador for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. "I am proud to be involved with programs that build good character in kids and am looking forward to helping McDonald’s decide who the McDonald’s Champion Kids are going to be," said Johnson.

U.S. National Hockey Team member Angela Ruggiero was nominated for the Jefferson Award for Public Service. The three-time Olympian (1998, 2002, 2006) joins 52 other athletes as nominees for the national recognition system honoring community and public service in America.

Ruggiero began her community involvement at an early age, helping to launch the Angela Ruggiero Girls' Hockey School and serving as a spokesperson for the Women's Sports Foundation. She has reached out to the international community as well, serving as the director of the New York Islanders' Project Hope, which provides educational opportunities to young Chinese athletes. In addition, Ruggiero spent six weeks in Uganda as a mentor with Right to Play, which uses sport and play to enrich the lives of disadvantaged kids around the world.
Ruggiero will also be inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame on Dec. 1 as a member of the gold medal-winning 1998 U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team. (read more)

Since the Olympic Games in Beijing, gold medal gymnast Shawn Johnson has played it just right. She's been out there on the CMT Music Awards and Dancing With the Stars. She's scored a few endorsements, including McDonald's and Secret deodorant. But she hasn't overdone it, hasn't risked a crass reputation by chasing down every last endorsement nickel or showing up on every talk show. (read more)
