In Shawn’s Words…

I am really excited about being the McDonald’s Champion Kids Ambassador for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

I love talking to kids and can’t tell you how excited I am to get to hang out with the McDonald’s Champion Kids Correspondents in Vancouver during the Olympic Games.

I am so thankful for everything I have gotten to do and being an Olympian is such an honor and one that I couldn’t have done without the support of my parents.

They have made sure that what I’m doing is what I love and enjoy. They have just supported me in everything that I have done and are the best parents ever. I have been very lucky that I was raised with strong values which have helped me to become who I am today.

As a kid you don’t have to be an Olympic athlete to have the Olympic Values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect with your friends or at home with your family. I am super passionate about school and I love to write and create artwork. Check out some of the stuff I have done at shawnjohnson.net when you have a chance. Just like you, I love to get creative.

This is why I can’t wait to read and see what real kids from all over America will send in for a chance to come to Vancouver.

I am proud to be involved with programs that build good character in kids and am looking forward to helping McDonald’s decide who the McDonald’s Champion Kids are going to be.
