Olympic gold-medal gymnast Shawn Johnson and actor Ashton Kutcher will headline a slate of charity events organized by Mediacom, the Big Ten Network and the University of Iowa to assist local small businesses affected by this summer’s floods.

Special events with the celebrity guests and native Iowans will be held before and after the annual Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk men’s basketball game in Iowa City on Friday, Dec. 12.

In addition to game-related activities at Carver Hawkeye Arena, there will be a pre-game VIP event featuring Shawn Johnson where fans can personally meet and visit with the gymnast for a $50 donation ($25 for children 12 and under).

Proceeds from each of these events will benefit the Cedar Rapids Small Business Recovery Fund and the Community Foundation of Johnson County through the Make a Difference with Mediacom fund, established by event organizers to raise financial assistance to directly benefit flood-damaged small businesses in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City corridor.
