Shawn Johnson, McDonald’s Launch One Minute to Move It

11.7.08

OAK BROOK, Ill.– Even with 525,600 minutes in a year, it only takes one minute to get moving. That’s what McDonald’s, along with Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson and characters from DreamWorks Animation’s highly anticipated film “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa™,” are inviting kids and families to do. From November 8 through November 16, Johnson will appear in a McDonald’s One Minute to Move It 30-second feature airing on Nickelodeon, Nicktoons networks and Nick.com to help McDonald’s launch One Minute to Move It – a global children’s well-being program designed to encourage kids to see what a difference a minute can make. One Minute to Move It empowers kids to take an active role in their own well-being by creating a minute of joyful self-expression.

The program launches in conjunction with McDonald’s new “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” Happy Meal® promotion in participating restaurants beginning November 7 through December 4 in North America. The spontaneous and energetic characters from the DreamWorks Animation SKG™ film are also Happy Meal toys. Kids have to move the toys to get a different response with each character toy.

The fun will also be online at www.happymeal.com in the U.S. and Canada and fun.mcdonalds.com worldwide, where kids can participate in interactive games and find activity suggestions to stimulate kids’ “minutes.” Kids can also unlock special Madagascar 2 character animation and music using special codes featured on all “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” Happy Meal toys, and on themed packaging, including the Happy Meal box, Apple Dippers and lowfat White Milk Jugs. One Minute to Move It activities will also appear in select restaurants around the U.S. and around the world.
